Lentinus edodes (shiitake) was the first mushroom to be produced by man in a controlled manner. The log production method is still popular around the world today. Everyone is delighted to see small brown mushrooms sprout from a wooden trunk that we have in our house. Shiitake grows on a wood-based substrate of leafy trees.
Our mycelium is sold in cereal grains (may contain target-corn, oats, rye and wheat - for a special composition, please contact contact us). We sell in bags of 4 kg, 2 kg and sachets of 250 - 300 g. These last ones are ideal for those who want to do a little experiment at home.
To inoculate logs, we recommend the use of dowels due to the simplicity and speed of the process. The dowels that are available in bags of 2000, 1000 and 100 units are sold in polypropylene bags with a micropore filter and can be kept cold for a few months.
The mycelium is also available in cartons of about 3 kg of hardwood sawdust, which is indicated to inoculate wood logs or blocks of supplemented sawdust production.
